What Stress Does-
Research shows that stress accounts for at least 90% of all illnesses.
Even the Mayo clinic says, "Constant stress puts your health at risk". And long term stress increases your risk of numerous health problems, including:
- Digestive Disorders
- Hormonal Imbalances
- Obesity
- Stress may cause skin conditions including eczema, acne, & psoriasis.
- Cancer & heart disease may result from prolonged stress in the body!
- Stress may lead to sleeping disorders in all ages.
- Memory impairment
- And much more!
Stress relief, more energy, and digestive problems are the most common health issues people in the world seek help for. Since stress is such a huge factor regarding your health I have decided to make it the main focus of this website and blog (we will cover the other two along the way because they contribute to your stress!). This article may cause more questions then answers but it's a huge topic and can't be dealt with in one article. Where does all the stress come from? Some are well known like:
- High paced life of the modern world/No down time/ Always on the go
- Money issues
- Relationship problems
- Work- postal people aren't the only ones who want to go postal!
- Worry
- Lack of good food, exercise, sleep, water, air, and sunshine
Some perhaps not so well known such as:
- Chemicals
- Electromagnetic fields, from all your electronic items
- Unhealthy beliefs
- Cellular memories
- Negative images
- Daily thoughts
Chemicals: Chemicals made in a lab have only been in the environment for the last 100 years or so. They are in your food, water, air, personal care products, cleaning products, drugs, and lawn and garden products. How all of these are effecting you isn't fully known but they are thought to be contributing to obesity, cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer's, Autism, etc. Since they are new to your body they cause stress, just by having to deal with them. Protecting yourself as much as possible seems wise.
Electromagnetic fields: These are, also, new to your body. The frequency of computers, cell phones, TV's etc. is different from the frequency of your body, space, sun, earth's magnetic field, etc. Again how they are effecting you is not totally known. Some people are very sensitive to them and others don't seem to be bothered by them at all. However, protecting yourself seems wise.
Unhealthy beliefs: Your genes get more credit for your health issues then they should. In fact, some natural health people believe genes account for only 20% of your health issues. Families share more than genes, they also share belief systems. Healthy belief's are great, but if it is an unhealthy belief it can cause very unhealthy results. How many unhealthy beliefs do you have? You probably aren't even aware of most of them.
Cellular Memories: According to the authors of, The Healing Code, Alex Loyd, PhD, ND and Ben Johnson, MD, DO, NMD your cells contain memories from 7-20 generations back in time. If a generation is 20 years, that means you are born with memories from 140-400 years ago. (These are not usually memories you can remember. Every cell in your body has a type of memory were everything that has happened to you is stored.) Where did your ancestors come from? Mine were from Germany and Ireland. The Irish potato famine brought many Irish decedents to America. Germany- World War II for example. A little stress in my relatives lives!
Negative Images: How about your own traumas? Whether it is images of things that actually happened to you, others that you have witnessed, or all the junk you have seen at the movies, TV, etc,, they are all still stored in your body and effect you whether you are conscious of it or not. My Mom always told me to guard my heart and mind. To be careful of what I read, heard, and saw because some things are not good for your mind and body.
Daily Thoughts: What do your daily thoughts consist of? This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad! Or, oh crap another day I have to go to work, run the kids around, cook, blah, blah, blah! God loves me and provides for me! Or the stock market is down again, how am I ever going to retire? It's God's day and I am so glad to be alive! Or Life is so tough. Everyday in every way I get better and better! Or I wonder what is wrong with me, I just don't feel right? Do you thank God for everything (even the things you don't like) or do you spend most of your time moaning and complaining like the Israelites stuck out in the desert for 40 years!
Obviously, sometimes you do have to deal with certain issues but how much of your daily thoughts are negative chatter? They all effect your health.
There are several techniques you can use to reduce stress: Prayer, meditation (the Christian way), exercise, eating healthy foods, using essential oils, massage therapy, and learning to live a more healthy life.
